THREE KEYWORDS OF OUR RESEARCH INTERESTS

• transformation of (Japanese) language expressions (as summarization and paraphrasing)
• machine translation (MT) between Japanese and English/Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese, and these language processing.
• sentiment analysis (feeling, opinion, evaluation, etc.) and text mining

RESERACH ENVIRONMENT

Computer

• All students are using Linux (Vine/CentOS for clients, Redhat for server) computer (at least 2.4GHz CPU and 768MB memory)
• As shared computers, we can use two Windows (Vista and XP) desktops, three Windows note, and one 27inch iMac.
• We have three file servers: one (1.0TB RAID10) for Windows files, and two (1.0TB RAID1 and 0.8TB RAID5) for Linux.
• Common programming language is Perl; everybody have great skill to use Perl language. Someone use C++ and PHP as well.

Lab

• We use three rooms for the lab: two for students and one for meeting, computer server, and Yamamoto's workspace. Yamamoto also has a professor's room.
• The same desks are provided to all students; wooden one made in Italy, size of 1600mm x 800mm.
• Although it's written in Japanese, you can see our lab's photos here. Without English comments you may understand what is what.
